Good Traffic Freeware For Fs2004
I looked into this a little while ago. You've got 3 payware options basically - Traffic 360 from JustFlight, Ultimate Traffic 2 from Flight1 and MyTraffic. There's freeware options too but I've not tried those this time round. They all have their pros and cons, none of them is perfect but they are all pretty good. Ultimate Traffic works a little differently to the others in that it adds the Traffic from oustide FS via Simconnect. There's ups and downs to this - it tends to perform better but if you open something from the menu, because it's simconnect, the traffic will vanish. And some other issues like that which you may or may not want to live with.
AI Traffic for FSX: Freeware & Payware. Not everything is as good as it might seem with World of AI. And especially the original minimal AI traffic in FSX.
Other traffic programs tend to have AI just fly from one airport to another in s straight line. UT uses more realistic routes so it's the one to get if this is important to you. It's better for airline traffic, not so good on GA Traffic 360 I've not used, I do have the boxed version of TrafficX which I used years ago. It was ok but I had issues running FS with too much AI back then so I didn't really get full use out of it. I think this one compares to MyTraffic, might be a little better looking AI models. MyTraffic is very highly rated - there's basically 3 versions of this, The Aerosoft 2013 version mentioned above which I don't know much about other than it's a version of MyTraffic. MyTraffic PRO is still being updated and is very good by all accounts but it's a monster - something like a 10gig install.

It adds a massive amount of AI aircraft but some of the models are a little bit dodgy. It's quantity over quality in some areas I think. I went for MyTraffic LITE which is cheaper and, well, a lot lighter - it justs adds a variety of aircraft but the cut down is it only really gives you traffic in Eu and NA.
You still get AI outside these areas but only the long haul stuff. Threre's an upgrade option from MyTraffic LITE to PRO which is the cheapest way to get PRO - I might do that one day but I've not felt any need to yet. When I use Vox ATC then that handles all the traffic with Simconnect similar to UT2. It uses the AI models from MyTraffic if you have that installed so I do that. HTH some, they are all good programs and when I saw threads like this people tend to be quite happy with whichever one they buy. It's just a question of knowing the limitations of each.
These are just my impressions so I might have got a few details out but that's basically it:). Originally posted by:I looked into this a little while ago. I saw it was last updated in 2009, so I wasn't sure if it was compatible. Considering the Pro version is $50AUD, I'm not sure I could justify it vs. Just having regular AI traffic on. Of course the problem is that AI traffic does fine at large airports, but tends to thin out at the smaller ones, which I suppose these programs are intended to fix?
How are you finding performance for Lite? Turning up traffic in vanilla FSX is pretty hard on frames, just wondering what it's like with My Traffic, considering it says you get better performance with even more planes.
So far I have seen 5, but not sure which one to get? I know some guys say the best AI is the ones that you do yourself, but I really dont have the time to create airlines, flight plans and all those tedious goodies associated with AI. - Traffic 2007 (For FSX and FS2004) FS2004 Traffic for PC/Mac (doesn't say who designed it) Ultimate Traffic (PC-CDrom) (Doesnt say who designed it) MY Traffic X 2010 (comes with the FS2004 version) - Traffic 2005 (expansion pack for Fs2004) Any takes on which one I should purchase to simple add diverse aircraft to the FS9 world. World of AI will carry any airline AI traffic and they have all the routes programmed to them already? Will give it a try OPA and Scott, Happy Holdiay guys!!!
Will check back in if I have any issues with the program. Thanks for the suggestion because I didnt know what to use AI traffic and I have heard the stories of how one bad texture on them can cause FS9 to crash. Many of us use WOAI and then disable the default FS traffic file - by renaming it to something like traffic030528.bgl.original - so all of the default Soar and Landmark etc. Airlines are gone. Mike Coburn Soldier Five Pdf To Jpg there.
That traffic file is located in your Scenery/World/scenery subfolder. If you do that, you will also lose any default GA AI traffic, but fear not; Reggie Fields and friends have compiled some excellent replacement packages for GA traffic which you caan find here: Hope that helps. OMG didn't think there would be so many different liveries for each country LOL!!! I just downloaded the main ones typically seen.
Only Question now concerns lag, will installing the over 90 different AI traffic packages create tons of lag at certain MAJOR airports that may call up several different liveries at one time? I will look into disabling the original traffic in FS9, I did this before, I am thinking that i need to also uninstall and reinstall some of my payware scenery files that have static traffic that occupies certain gates around the airport. Last thing I hate seeing is AI parked above or into a static aircraft. I spent my afternoon before going to work downloading the Major Airline packages from WOAI and I only extracted the installer (version 2.4 seems to be the latest version) I will take my time and work on airlines from one country to the next until it is complete around the world!!!
But again the only concern becomes lag if any! Oh Smutley, I thought you knew me already pal, what is a Mav (maverick) with a top gun academy in his sim! Lol I have Millitary Works AI already! I just didnt know how to install commercial AI traffic! I always take my IRIS freeware tomcat to this very airport in the Vegas area Mirrimar Naval Academy 'TOPGUN'!
Thanks for thinking about it though, this is one of my favorite AI packages! I try to follow the AI Tomcats but blackjack always gives me the slip when he goes supersonic! Kinda like a qoute 'Which way did he go, Which where did who go' - top gun Thanks again, just putting the final touches on my AI traffic (installed over 130 airlines this afternoon). I am seeing some of them at Charles De Gaulle Intl but they dont seem to pop up at their regional airports any take on that? BUt I am loving how it is bring the sim world alive now.
Nothing like seeing an aircraft taking off as your landing and seeing an airport alive with different liveries no matter where you land!
