You cannot install a hard hat on the 3M Speedglas Adflo 9100FX-Air w/9100XX ADF 36-1101-30SW.
If you currently own this system you can up grade it with a 91mp helmet that has a built in hard hat. You can then install your auto darkening lens from the 9100fx helmet in to the MP helmet.
The part number for this helmet is 27-0099-35sw ($548.10). Bookworm Adventure Free Download For Android Tablet on this page. If you have not purchased an Adflo system and want one with a built in hard hat you can purchase the 3M Speedglas Adflo 9100 MP w/9100XX Lens 37-1101-30SW. The company I work for purchases these for us. They are good to filter out just about all the harmful gases I breathe on a daily basis. I weld on magnesium, stainless, D2, carbon, galvanized, and often times through hazardous paint.
Before using this system I felt horrible; waking up in the middle of the night coughing up black gunk. Been using this for about a year and don't wake up coughing anymore. The price is a bit steep but worth the money if you think about the medical bills your saving yourself from. I replaced the grommets with stainless steel washers and bolts because whatever 3M is using for the grommets just rusts over the summer months when it's super hot. The air ventilation in this is great but will not cool you down in the summer, it's just a fan that pushes whatever air temperature in the room is onto your face.
You can switch the direction of the airflow to either blow down onto your face or onto the lens to defog it. Driver Pci System Peripheral Windows 98 Vmware Fusion For Mac there. The belt system sucks if your bent over for long periods of time, the leather is stiff and it has a tendency to ride to your lower back due to the weight of the lithium battery.
I have a cherry bomb glass pack that'd be a direct fit. Every exhaust shop in town wants $120-140 to do it, which is retardedly over priced. I have a auto shop at school but my teacher doesn't want to weld it on for me but he'll let me use the shop (warm and dry!) to install the muffler with band clamps. Nov 27, 2003 How would adding a 24' Cherry Bomb glasspack for a performance muffler sound on stock a '99. But heck I can get a new one for only $18, plus $20 for welding.
The battery pack lasts for about 8 hours and I wouldn't turn the hood on until I'm welding; the rest of the time I leave the hood flipped up. I like being able to have grind settings and weld settings I can access with just a flip of the visor, let's me be able to change modes without having to stop welding. The visor on this hood is my favorite feature, when you grind you can opt to either flip the visor up of just change it to grind setting.
The air hose is nothing special and I recommend wrapping it in Kevlar tape if you work in close quarters with other welders. The air filters for these are not cheap so I recommend stocking up on the prefilters.
The air filter can last you up to 6 months if you change out your prefilters about once a month. About every 3 hours I take the prefilters out and blow it with an air wand to knock the debris out.
DO NOT BLOW ON THE ACTUAL AIR FILTER. It will immediately ruin them, it will basically blow the harmful dust it's fought and push it directly into the fan motor and not only potentially ruin your motor but could push a concentrated dose of dust right into your face. Spray out prefilters but not the actual filter itself. I hope I hit all the points and left a fair and honest review. Personally for the price, I don't feel these are as well designed as could be. They aren't super heavy, it's just that the weight isn't evenly dispersed; probably best to get the backpack harness. I weld in track maintenance for a railroad.
The electrodes are either hex chrome or manganese, neither one you want to huff. All the blowers and stuff aren't worth a flip when the air is damp and still. Haven't gone to the house with a snoot full of black junk since I bought this hood. I often get stuck welding twenty to thirty hours at a shot so had to purchase extra batteries to make it through a project. The hood does get heavy when you're head down for almost sun up to sun up but I can't think of a way to shave any weight and still have this level of performance. Only down side is the mechanism that holds the hood in the up position is weak and will drive you nuts falling down all the time.
It's still miles ahead of the Miller version when in use. Depending on the environment go deep on consumables, particularly filters. Product was awesome no complaints there. Had shipping issues with cyberweld. They shipped it a week after I placed the order and when asked why and if I needed it by a certain date I should have got express shipping. Well I wouldn't need express if you didn't take a week to send it off right? When I received the box the shipping box was closed but the box that held the mask was already opened.
It was taped shut but the tape wasbroken and there was once stickers on the box that were cut off. Not too impressed with the way I was treated and this seems like a display item. It is the baddest looking helmet that Ive ever seen.
It works as it should. Provides cool filtered air into the helmet which is awesome in our shop in the summer where it gets extremely hot in there so any bit of cooling helps. One thing they didnt mention is that if you pass gas while wearing this helmet the pump sucks it right up and blows it into your helmet. Guess the filter doesnt catch that. Its a little pricey but Speedglas makes such durable products that its worth what you pay. I remember saying I'd never pay $200 for a helmet. Now I have over $2000 worth of helmets.
ConsWhen you put the belt on the excess that sticks out has no loop to hold it in. It gets caught on everything. I asked speedglas for a solution and they said to cut it off or loop it back through somehow. Neither of these suggestions satisfied me. I used a velcro extension cord wrap to make an extra loop on the belt.
Not pretty but it works. Other thing that will go away with time is the extra weight puts a little more strain on your neck. I had headaches for a few days but it gets better when you get used to it.
