Driver Restraint System Fault E60
My daily driver failed me today. Just after slowly rolling over a speed bump near my home tonight, the airbag warning lights came on. Before I knew it, the E65 stalled out and came to rest peacefully on the side of the road. I completed the shut down of the car, then attempted to restart. Upon restart, the starter engaged, but didn't stop attempting to start!!! Fearing that the starter would burn out, I quickly pulled the key. After a couple of more attempts, I let her 'rest' for a few minutes while I refreshed my memory on how to pop her into neutral, thinking I may have to push her home.
I went back in for another restart attempt, and she turned over no problem like a champ. However, the airbag warning lights are still on. Has anyone encountered this issue before? I fear a stall out at 70MPH!!!
Hi guys Just putting this up as it may help a few people as the restraint system fault is quite common. My restraint light was coming on constantly ev. 2012 2005 E60 535d Restraint System Fault diagnosis. E60 restraint system faulty [Archive] - BMW-Driver.net. Bmw e60 restraint systems fault reset.

I got this warning last Friday. The full warning message appearing in the iDrive was Fault in pass.-restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt-force limiter. Fasten and continue to wear belts. Please contact the nearest BMW center.
This was followed by a Transmission Fail Safe warning message. At the same time, my wipers turned on and didn't respond to the wiper control. I finally got them to stop by turning off the car. Unfortuntately they're in the upgright position.

I called my service advisor and explained to him the situation. It was late that evening and he didn't have a loaner for me so I told him I'd bring the car by the first thing Monday morning. All of a sudden, I got into my 745 li 2002, and the light came up saying that airbag fault, something with the belt tensioner, it says continue wearing seatbelts and bring it to the nearest BMW service center. Its funny I just came out of the service for an oil change and other things 2 days ago, and then this happened. Does anyone know what the cause of this was and why it happened. Thanks I got same problem yesterday.
I am getting bit frustrated with my 7er because this is another problem after problem in 3 months. Nothing really sooo serious, but keeps bothering me. Had Hyundai XG before and never so many problems. Download Film Semi Korea Terbaru 2011. Well we will see.
Programming Ruby 1.9 & 2.0 Pdf there. 9763 is the occupancy sensor mat. I bought an occupancy sensor bypass off of Ebay for the passenger side mat that was throwing the code. I was able to connect it and clear the code. Then my driver's side went out and I couldn't clear it using the same bypass module. So i took it to a mechanic and he told me it was an open circuit (9674) and 9763 (occupancy mat).
I was going crazy because I thought that it was just my INPA configuration or OBD II USB cable that wouldn't clear the code (kept getting ecu error). The mechanic told me it was a wire short circuit under the seat somewhere. It must have happened putting in the subwoofers when I had the seat slightly removed. I didn't care to dig through all the harnesses and take the seat out the find the issue, so I just programmed both seats to be turned off using NCSExpert in ECUs SSFA and SSBF. I was such a happy camper after fighting with the thing for several days. Hello, I have a 202 e65 745i with only 73k on it.
2 days ago the airbag light and the seatbelt light came on with a warning on the idrive that said passenger restraint system failure. I have family that is BMW certified in another state, gave a call and they said check for recalls.
BMW NA did issue the recall bulletin as listed in another users post. After review of the bulletin my year is not on the list. I called BMW NA directly and they said my year is not on the list also. Now my car has 73k on it. That's very low mileage for a 2002 and there are not really many passengers in the car so for here to be an issue on the passenger side system is odd. Especially when its the passenger side of the car that all the recalls are issued for.
Just called 1 888 327 4236 that's the national safety commission complaint line. Spoke with a very nice lady that took all my info about what was wrong and the mileage VIN etc. I also asked her how it was that they issued the recalls if it was by part number used or complaints filed. She basically told me that they issue a recall based on the number of complaints for specific year and model cars and that it may very well be that I have the same faulty part number installed in my car but the fact that there are not enough complaints on the issue for my specific year that they would skip listing my year in the affected models. She also said she was uploading my complaint file to Safercar.gov and that is the place that engineers go to review complaints and make decisions on what cars get recalled. If you have any other year BMW that is affected with the passenger side restraint system warning on idrive that would also have your seatbelt light on and airbag light on go to the website or call the number and file a complaint.
She said the more complaints they get the more likely they are to issue a recall. Thanks hopefully with enough complaints we can get this serious safety issue in our cars fixed by the dealer like they should be doing anyways. Safercar.gov 1 888 327 4236 National safety hotline. Safercar.gov 1 888 327 4236 National safety hotline I'll call. Just popped up today and mine is a 2005. 9763 is the occupancy sensor mat.

I was such a happy camper after fighting with the thing for several days. So if I do that, the airbags will work regardless of whether there is a passenger or not during a crash? Following this Thread just in case someone answers. I'm having the same problem and I'm looking for help. I took it to the dealership because my primary mechanic couldn't diagnose it. The dealership wants to replace the Airbag Control Module ($1700).
They said it was faulty. The total cost for that including labor is $2500+. In my opinion, this error doesn't match what they wanted to replace. I brought up the recall on the passenger sensor and he was adamant that it wasn't the problem.
2008's weren't covered by the recall anyway. I asked him to reset it and he refused. Following this Thread just in case someone answers. I'm having the same problem and I'm looking for help.

For some reason i cant seem to find BELEGUNGSERKENNEUNG_FA and BELEGUNGSERKENNEUNG_BF options in both SSBF and SSFA modules in my fsw_psw file. What am i doing wrong? Help needed I had the same problem when I tried to code mine. Rather than mess around with it, I just bought a bypass off ebay for $10, and that solved the issue for me.
